Anyone have a trans manual? B2 piston related question...
Picked up a nice clean '81 300SD recently and have been doing some minor preventative repairs to it (oil cooler hoses etc). I was going to replace the B2 piston in the spring, but at almost 250k miles, I guess it had enough!
My concern is the small shards of aluminum the broken piston has deposited. I have cleaned the bore, and replaced the piston seal and bushing. That is all clean now, but I noticed there is a drainback slot in the bottom of the bore. I did fish 4 shards out of it using a wire dipped in grease. Anyone have a trans manual that depicts the passages? I was going to squirt some trans fluid through it to flush out anything that might be left, but I'm not sure if the passage just leads back to the filter or if it leads to a check ball or valve. I don't want to push the shards further into the system and would rather not pull the valve body out. Any insight is much appreciated!

lol... we'll see. I've been working on it a bit each night and should finish everything on Saturday. I guess a nice long "around town" test drive should tell me if any of those shards made it into the valve body!
