How many pebbles....

Apologies for a kind of "off the wall" question...but....how much sand(in bags ,of course)is best put in the trunk of a 240D to get maximum traction in snow and ice? 50 lbs.....80lbs.???? Thanks for the magic number.

For maximum traction, the magic number is 500 pounds in the trunk. I guarantee that this will definitely give you maximum traction.

Of course, your fuel economy is going to go in the toilet, but, you wanted maximum traction. :D

Place them as far

forward in the trunk as is possible. :)
The weight needs to be on center over axles. :)

I agree. Having grown up in Pittsburgh when most cars were still Rear wheel drive thats what I had to do every winter. And if you still get stuck the sand comes in handy to help get you traction on the ice.
