How many pebbles....

Apologies for a kind of "off the wall" question...but....how much sand(in bags ,of course)is best put in the trunk of a 240D to get maximum traction in snow and ice? 50 lbs.....80lbs.???? Thanks for the magic number.

For maximum traction, the magic number is 500 pounds in the trunk. I guarantee that this will definitely give you maximum traction.

Of course, your fuel economy is going to go in the toilet, but, you wanted maximum traction.

Thumbs up Place them as far

forward in the trunk as is possible.
The weight needs to be on center over axles.

I agree. Having grown up in Pittsburgh when most cars were still Rear wheel drive thats what I had to do every winter. And if you still get stuck the sand comes in handy to help get you traction on the ice.
