Successful Front Wheel Work
Today we concluded our project thats been going on since Tuesday Morning, redoing the rotors/pads/repacking bearings on our '83's front wheels. That was quite an experience, and we took it out for a test drive about an hour ago, and after burning the new rotors and pads in, it stops like WOW. Everything is smooth and it glides down the road perfectly, we are quite happy. Nothings cooler than doing stuff yourself.
Best part was saving the $330 in labor that the dealer would have wanted for this job, saving money means more $$ for new parts and tools!! Our next project may be the '83's rear brakes, but they should be ok for now. So both cars now have new discs/rotors and repacked bearings. I think I might install a ZeroStart heater on my car soon, it looks like it could come in handy this winter, even though I was able to start my car last winter when it was -7 outside, 2 glow cycles, and 20 seconds of cranking, and it fired right up! After my valve adjustment it fell to 10-15 seconds of cranking, but so far it has always started.

For the really high dollar stuff, I buy her a dozen roses for delivery where she works. I did that when I bought my 240D I think a lot of us on this forum "think alike".
