The TDs are always faster. Why? Better aerodynamics and weight distribution. Don't believe me? Well, because its probably not true, but I like to pretend. Also, silver is the fastest color, something about light bouncing off of the tiny metallic particles and speeding you up.

Seriously though, my TD is quite quick, actually more powerful than I thought it would be! The ALDA has been tweaked up a bit, and everything has been cleaned out real nice with a good valve adjustment. Purrs like a big huge kitten, and pulls like a freight train once that turbo kicks in.

In WRX rally racing the wagons are actually prefered by many because of a better rear end weight distribution, but on our 300s, I doubt it makes any difference.

Theoretically, the two vehicles should be almost indistinguishable in performance, if the TD is much slower, I'd start looking for problems like others have suggested.

Peace,
sam

Looks like I have many threads to pull on. It will keep me out of trouble well maybe just a different type. Sure wish I had a nice toasty garage to work in. Rolling around in a gravel driveway loses it's appeal after a few hours....Thanks for all the input. I think the dumbest mistake I have made so far was failing to latch the hood and getting a "come and get me" phone call at 1 AM....jumping into my TD and about 1.5 miles from home having it fly open and smash my windshield and tear up the coaming below it. Now THAT was dumb. You can be sure that will never happen to me again....Then there is the time I took my cell phone out with me to work on the D putting the phone within reach, finishing up and trying three separate times to slam the hood closed but it wouldnt go shut just bounced off. Bet you can guess why ! Never did like cell phones anyway.
