Question 300SDL mileage

It has been advised that for my mileasge to increase (currelnty 23city/25 hwy) to disconnect the EGR valve. When i disconnect it, do i need to plug the hose or the valve stem or is just disconnecting it enough. I did not know if leaving the ends unplugged would cause a vacuum or pressure loss somewhere else in the system.
TIA,
Shannon

The simplest way to eliminate the EGR is to disconnect the hose from the valve and plug the hose. That's it. No other mods are required unless you don't like the look of the EGR valve. If so, I still have a couple of the kits available to remove the EGR valve completely.
