Question National Convention?????????

I will be the first to suggest that perhaps a convention of some type is in order.

Actually, it was suggested on another thread, but I figured I'd take the ball and run with it.

Perhaps a diesel only convention. It would be great to compare my SDL to another one, as I hardly see them down here.

I would love to attend one if somebody would care/dare to organize it.

Anyone willing to try? I'm not very organized, I only come up with good ideas. :p

I always see several GTG's suggested but the are never in my area.

Suggest a regional location?

One big determining factor would be the host city. MB dieselers from the host area could pull of the logistical challenges better than someone out of the area. A coordinator might be off-site but the "arms and legs" of the effort would need to be local.

Since participants would obviously drive to the meet, an interstate crossroads like Nashville, St. Louis, Louisville, Cinci, etc would offer easy access.

I have been the logistics coordinator for professional meetings when I lived on the Gulf Coast but never planned a meeting of this type.

Area rendevous could be planned for those driving the furthest and groups could caravan for the remainder of the trip!

What do ya think Plantman? Meet up around Lake City with all the FL OM's and head up I-75. You could stop at exit 138 and fill up with BIODIESEL at our local distributor!

Sounds like the begining of a plan. Hopefully, we can get more members on board!

almost any place

except jacksonville in late january-big football game or something goin on.

st loo would be good. northerners could trek down rte 66 and take three days to get there rather than one. westerners could trek east of americas hiway.

never been to nashville come to think of it. neat car musuem near st loo also. ws there several years ago memory is foggy but several cool american 50/60's iron.
