Any input on this EBAY Car?
This is the second time this has been on e-bay, I sent owner some questions, he (or she) never responded. Any body know anything about this car?
Is that a Trap-ox I see? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6330&item=4506013080&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW Joe |

With 160,000 miles, the drivers seat shouldn't be ripped and torn as shown
Plus those are old pictures, because I doubt that it is 87 degrees in Astoria, New York right now |

The pictures are probably from this summer. Note the green leaves and the outdoor potted plant in a couple of the backgrounds.
I'd be leery of any car from the north east, unless it's close enough to you so you can take a real good look at it... - Patrick

You said you sent them a message so I assume it was an email.
Why not call? His phone # is listed and that way you would get immediate response. If you do call, let us know what he/she says about the car. Cheers, Bill |

That's not a trap, that's the replacement pipe.
Steering wheel is awfully worn too. My SDL's outside temp gauge read +107F in San Jose, CA on Friday. All through summer it was pegged at +136F Sixto 95 S420 87 300SDL |

The seller has not photographed the vehicle very well and the listing does not provide very much information as to the condition. Therefore, it probably will not command a very high price. My guess is somewhere around $4K.
This is a vehicle that needs to be looked at because of the location. Astoria is in New York City proper and the vehicle was used to commute from Astoria to Yonkers, approximately 15 miles north of Astoria. The pavement in this distance is horrible, and the vehicle would have lived a poor life if it performed this service for many years. He might not make the reserve with this one, depending on how much he is looking for. There appear to be some advantages such as the replacement head. Of course, this depends on which head was installed and who installed it. |

I'd stay away from it even at the opening bid. Good candidate for an odometer roolback. Where are the interior pics? looks like trouble

This one is really picky, but look at the picture from the open driver's door showing the steering wheel. Look through the steering wheel on the dash just at the furthest right side of the instrument cluster - there is a scratch consistent with an improvised tool used to remove the instrument cluster which is consistent with odometer roll-back. Also in the next picture of the odometer, the "5" in the 10K spot is not in line with the other numbers. Granted the mileage is due to change soon, but the "9" would be moving first to push it.
Finally, one question - what is the red LED light next to the headlight switch for?

It's not in the best shape for an 300 SDL, i'd guess it's probably worth about $3800. maybe less if we knew all about it.Probably has 259K miles. Man you guys do have some telescopic eyes. Thanks to this Forum people like me can learn...only through exprience I suppose.
