Who has the oldest MB on the forum?
 

I know a lot of us drive the 123s, but I'm curious as to who has the oldest [still driveable] MB. Gasser or diesel.

Any details such as mileage,when acquired, etc. would be interesting.

He doesn't post much, but "Ima55r2" owns a 500K from the 30's. 1937 if I remember correctly. It won the people's choice award at Amelia Island a couple years ago. You can see a couple pics in this thread.

I don't know if this counts, But...

We have a '65 220S, a '67 250, and a '77 240D in our storage lot at work. :D My boss won't let me touch them or even get them running, he wants them for his personal collection.

A storage lot? So they're sitting outside?! Man, thats a good way to ruin cars. Can't he keep them indoors or maybe you can use that point to acquire them?

Hate to see good cars sittin' outside. When I was a teenager I noticed there were a bunch of '30's Packards sitting outside at an old garage. Knocked on the door to see if I could rescue them and the old guy came to the door with a shotgun telling me to get outta there and not come back. The old guy is still alive, probably in his 90's now, and the cars are sitting outside still with trees growing up through them. What a waste.

Keep pushing and see if you can get one!

PEH, you've got all kinds of cool stuff sittin' around including, I think, your first car, a Willys. I live in Pa. as well and if you would like to show me your "museum" I'd love to come take a peek. Maybe you could give me some pointers on how to talk your wife into keeping old cars around? I'm wanting a 123 junker for parts and my wife would have a fit if I brought one home.
