A tip for you guys..... front springs

Most already know this but once again I probably had to learn the hard way. If you do not have to remove the front springs please save yourself some time and not take them out. OR if you have to take them out make sure you have the special spring compressors designed for MERCEDES instead of the cheap crap I rented at AutoZone.

It took my father and I a good 5 hours to change the front guide rod, mainly compressing the springs and the compressors were not long enough so you had to use crowbars (gently) etc etc etc.

Bottom line, rent the right spring compressor.
