It's not an MB manual from the looks of it, I would try to find the MB manual on CD (2) for W123 cars. I like mine.

They have them for all models, including the 126.

I have 3 1/2 manuals. The MB manual for the 617, MB one for the body(126) and MB HVAC book. The engine and body manuals are pretty good if you can stand the odd(to me) way of organizing the jobs and the so-so translation to english. The HVAC book is good too, but maybe not worth the $40 bucks. My 1/2 manual is a transmission manual put out by Automatic Transmission Service Group, and was the best I could find at the time. Only about $15 and worth it, as MB didn't offer a trans manual. All are books. Only once did I ever make the mistake of paying money for a manual I couldn't put on a bench or fender. Some will differ, but I would only look to buy a book, even if it's used.

Pete, Right On ( or Write On ) !!!
Except for one small note.... the one about the AC manual... sounds like something someone who lives in Connecticut would say.......

OH, You DO LIVE in Connecticut !!!!! LOL

People in Texas and the humid hot south DO need the AC manual.... at whatever price it takes to get it .... LOL

ascalise,
Sometimes when paper manuals are not available, you do the next best; factory service manual on CD's.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=34227&item=7937080929&rd=1 bootleg?? who knows.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=34227&item=7938029841&rd=1 copyright legit?? probably.

And the holy grail:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=34227&item=7937995857&rd=1 final price?? not cheap.

When I got my first MB... 1981 wagon.. I paid $2000 for it... I immediately mail ordered $200 worth of manuals from Mercedes for it .. ( or the company which did that for MB ).... and I thought they were worth every penny.
That is like buying a new $18,000 car and spending $1800 for the manuals. LOL
That last one IS the Holy Grail.... nice find Jbaj007 !!!!
But maybe you should have just emailed HIM that info... now lots of people have seen it .... LOL

Greg,
Since it was a gasser engine manual, I didn't figure it would get much excitement on the Diesel Forum.

I was a little more quiet when I bought this the other day: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6762&item=7937583183&rd

Question... why is it one big chassis manual, instead of vol. I and vol. II ? I hope because it's a newer copyright date, but who might know?

My 123 body manual is one large book that looks about three inches thick, early printing. It is a little cumbersome and feels fragile. I also have the diesel NA engine manual, almost a two incher. I want the turbo engine manual also.

I will buy the HVAC manual but I have seen what appears to be two different versions. If I buy the later version that was printed in the mid 80's, anyone know if it will cover all of the 123 cars or just the late model cars? Do I need to buy two HVAC manuals to cover all of the cars?

Besides the manuals I have mentioned, which others would be considered essential?

Just received them today.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7937583183

Print date is 1989; reprint date 1993. Must be sometime around there that they combined two volumes into one large volume.

While I've found the CD adequate for most needs in the past, the printed manuals are fantastic, so I feel fortunate to have found these at this price.
