Awesome 300CD on ebay

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4508793603

I've seen many other auctions of old, ultra low mileage MBs by this guy. Has anyone dealt with him?

Here's another car he is selling: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6332&item=4509095167&rd=1

sometimes these "too good to be true" cars are fishy.

carfax has no data, except a vt title in 85 then a "mileage exempt" title in '95.
I wonder how it became mileage exempt with 70K miles?

This seller is also selling a 98 e300td which carfax shows was in a front accident and has had the suspension serviced 10 times. description says "no known accidents"

It's a shame.

I'd love that S500, and the price ain't bad. But if the mileage etc is true I wouldn't feel right buying it as a driver. Particularly for the near term it wouldn't even be garaged.

The comments about his other cars make one wonder, an 86 with 16k.

Although my sister in-law has her mom's 76 dodge, that hasn't hit 30k. She doesn't drive it, looking to find a collector. Not really for the money, just doesn't want to see it get ??

Why buy an 18 year old car that has just 16K miles? I mean, the car looks ultra sharp and attractive, but with such low mileage it probably sat unused for years. I can imagine just how dried up all those seals are, having received inadequate lubrication from the use of the car.

But where does this guy find these low mileage cars?

Did MB install CD players in their cars in 1983?
I cannot recall them being available before around 1985, but I could just be having a "senior moment"

Two ways I look at this:
That money won't buy much of a new car.
For that kind of money everthing would have to be verifiable and near perfect. I would have to see it before I bid on it or I would refuse it later on inspection if it were not as described.

My security setting won't let me look at the pictures, those spam bastards.

More likely owned by a guy that commutes to NYC by rail. Hardly ever driven & kept in the garage.

I'm a little farther south in NJ. Some years we don't even get snow. When we do, the town has a very effective plan for dealing with it. ... wait 'til it melts.

Cheaper than salt.
