99 E300 Turbodiesel K&N Part number needed
I cannot find the part number for my car to get the K&N. However, I do know that it is there because someone has mentioned that they have one but I don't know the part number. TIA

Can I ask why you want a K&N filter? I'm not an expert by any stretch, but I do believe your turbocharger already supplies the engine with an over-supply of air in its stock form. An aftermarket filter should provide you with zero performance benefits and possibly less filtration. It's your money to spend as you see fit, but I don't think this item will provide any appreciable ROI. YMMV

I suppose because my air filter will need a change and I wanted one that is washable. Not so much as to gain any real HP out of it

Accel makes 'Kool Blue' filters that are completly washable.. Im not sure as to filtration next to K+N though. Why dont you see if they have one that fits?

I wouldn't advise. The OEM filters are pretty decent and aren't too expensive. |
the oil in the filter will clog up your mass air flow sensor and you will have to replace it. get a stock filter, it's just better in this case.
|
I wouldn't recommend a K&N on a car with a MAF sensor.

K&N's are a bad idea for MB's the oil will ruin the MAF sensor. Not to mention they let a lot of dirt through.

OK. Guess I'll drop that idea then. thanx everyone
