Modified valve wrenchs for W123
I know this may sound crazy. Has anyone tried to make their own valve adjustment wrenchs from standard metric wrenchs. Can they be heated up and bent to work. Does this sound like a bad idea.

Go for it.
metal will bend. heat will make it bend easier. the question is what type of metal is the wrench made from? Is it brittle? Will heat alter it's strength? Buy a cheap "Taiwan" wrench and try it. The local swap meet is a great source of cheap used wrenches, buck a piece. Put the head in a vise and heat-n-beat until you get the desired bends. |
See www.**************.com. This vendor bends and welds combination wrenches for resale. I am not recommending for or against the procedure or the vendor. Just providing information.

Valve wrenches:
Take the time and do a search on"valve wrenches."There is a ton of info. And one even tell's the angel to bend to and grind the heads to fit.
Why spen $60 to $70 when you can make two of the three wrenches. There is a special one that hold the valve spring. And you won't make it. Charlie |
Thanks for the information
