yes, exactly. Also, congrats on having your EGR disconnected. Make sure the valve is not stuck partially open, other than that, you can leave it that way.

How do you check for a partially opened EGR?

If you suspect that the valve is not closing completely, you'll need to remove it and check that the piston is fully engaging the seat. This can be done visually with the valve off the vehicle.

Or, you can completely eliminate the valve by using one of my kits.

I had not seen this post in a while. Found out later that my EGR had been disconnected via a BB in the hose nipple by the previous owner's mechanic.

I bet my mechanic who did those valves replaced both of them and since it was blocked, I didn't need but one of them replaced. Imagine that.

My shift problem WAS solved after the valve was replaced and everything was adjusted.

I believe dieselgiant's tutorial has got good pictures of this procedure.
