Is Lubro Moly any good?

I am interested in cleaning my injectors without removing them and having them tested. I do not think any of them are bad. I have perfect idle when engine is colder. When fully hot, it has rough idle. I am replacing the rack dampener bolt as we speak. Car rough idles when hot. Idle is always perfect when cold - always progressively worse when hot.

Is the Lubro Moly that you run through the injectors without going through the fuel tank a good product? I have used the Red Line Power 85 diesel fuel treatment in my tank. It seems to do well. I have used Power Service diesel fuel treatment you buy at Wal Mart or Advance Auto in the tank. But I have never used Lubro Moly.

Please advise. Thanks.

I was extremely impressed with the results when I used Diesel Purge in my '82 300D. Nothing else has come close.

There is none better than Lubro Molys' diesel purge. I run it every year in both. Always improves the idle and fuel economy afterwards. I think that shows how muck gunk the fuel has in it.

Lubro-Moly's Diesel Purge has worked very well for me. You will be amazed at how much smoother and quieter your engine will run while doing the purge. (much higher cetane I believe). Be sure to have a couple of extra in-line filters on hand when you do it.

Also, you might check your valve adjustment. I had a rough idle, esp. when hot, and found that the PO had the valves set wrong. (were .1mm all the way across) Started fine and idled smooth when cold but would churn butter sometimes when hot. After valve adjustment, hot idle was much improved.

Instead of putting Diesel purge in with a tank of diesel, use a old pop bottle and run to rubber hoses to the injection pump, then fill up the pop bottle with the diesel purge, and prime and start. Let this run through, hopefully the hot idle will clear up.
