Bose and other options and prices (W210)

Silly question: how do I know if I have Bose?

And also, after searching the net, I can't seem to find any original option pricing. I know that the 97 E300 had a base MSRP of 39,900, but I would like to find the original cost of Bose, Moonroof, CDx, and the phone.

Any help on these 2 questions is appreciated.

On my friends E300D it says Bose right on the rear speakers, also probably on the head unit but I don't remeber. I know you can still get window stickers I'm just not sure how.

The bose and glass moonroof was a optional package on the the W210s, if you have one you have the other. Not sure how much the package was, i have it somewhere in my records though...somewhere north of $2K though.

Everything was available separately, but was slightly cheaper if purchased as a package.

Mine was right at 43,000 with brilliant silver metallic paint and the Bose/moonroof package.

I opted not to get the factory CD changer/phone package as it was something like $1500. The same Becker CD changer from another source was about $400.

Other options available were Xenon headlights (at a ridiculous price), orthopedic seats (also expensive), heated seats (not necessary in Florida), rear sunshare ($400 I think), and full leather interior. I chose to stick with the standard interior, which is leather in the center with MB Tex on the bolsters where all the wear normally occurs. I skipped the sunshade and tinted all the windows for about $125.

To find out if you have Bose, look and see if you have option code 810
(Bose Premium Audio) on the metal data card on the radiator cross member.

Here are the options for the 1997 E300D

Leather surfaces (others)

Sorry to bump this, but I am curious about this and, unfortunately, need to clean this car for my wife (not going to rant about how she cares for cars!).

I have a 1999 E300D, black with grey. Has Bose and sunroof (E2) and CD changer and head unit with the phone-type button unit (so maybe K2).

The seats are obviously MB-Tex on the bolsters, and I gather from this forum the seat insets are leather as well as the steering wheel.

Question: for those who know, what other parts of the interior are leather? door panels? seat backs? head rests? arm rests? center console rest (MB-Tex I believe)? Thanks !

Not positive, but I'm guessing since it's a "base" car, everything but the shifter and steering wheel will be tex, not leather.

I had a '98 E300, but it was configured a bit differently than the '99. The '98 was all tex, no leather. It was easy to tell the difference. On the tex cars, the upholstered side airbag covers on the doors were smooth, but had a wrinkled, gathered appearance on the leather cars.

Yeah, Jim's got it right. On the base 99 only the steering wheel, shifter knob, and the center sections of the seats are leather. Everything else is Tex.
