going on a search for German nozzles

Fritz, my colleague here at the firm, is going home to Germany during the holiday. I put him up to trying to find some nozzles, Bosch designation DNO SD 240/, only made in Germany. So here's to hoping he can find some. Don't know if any new ones exist, but if they do they'd surely be in the motherland, right?

I'd like to get a set also. Is the difference in quality between the german made
injectors and those manufactured in other countries that great??

You would have to ask TomJ about that, but from my understanding erratic spray patterns and inconsistent opening/holding pressures are the norm with Indian-made nozzles, not the exception.

Sad to say it, but you will probably find NO german-made nozzles, even in Germany...AFAIK,Bosch no longer produces them in Germany, but in Turkey, India and Brazil. The local Bosch dealer told me however that in Brazil Robert Bosch GMBH had to halt the production for a while due to the"awful quality" of inj.nozzles Turkish prod. is far better...Alernative-Pierburg/Kolbenschmidt,DieselTech... Don`t know...The online Bosch catalogue now offers only whole Injector setups

I have heard nothing but good reports, from several folks on this forum, about nozzle sets from here: www.coloradobiodiesel.com/injectors/index.html

Someone said the owner is also a member of this forum.

Yeah I know they are not made in Germany anymore, but I'm hoping he can locate some just sitting on a shelf somewhere in an out-of-the-way shop or warehouse. He says there is quite a following for these cars over there, so there has got to be some way to get some decent product. He's an engineer who speaks the language, and he's going to be over there so why not get him to look around if he has the time. He might turn up something, might not. I figure he's got a better chance than me for finding some if any exist.

If I can find a German set - I will take them straight to TOMj and have him tune them to perfection! Please let me know if your friend comes across any no matter the price!

Yes, they will say "GERMANY" etched into the rim of the nozzle, along with the P/N.

Don't forget to have him check for French made ones too. They are OK, leaps and bounds above Indian quality. They are almost on par with German, at least the ones I've tested.
