Stop the Madness...

In my daily nationwide search for a damn car, I stumbled across this.

Anybody see this? Sounds like it could've been somebody from here. Made me smile. :)

Beautiful.

What a wonderful direct kick in the chops for the goof balls. :)
It does sound like a few forum members. LOL
I have felt the desire to vent a few times. ;)

I lived overseas for about 20 years. Three years in Europe and about 10 in the Middle East. It was nothing in Germany to see a 170, 180, 190, 220 or 240d MB taxi with 500K km. on the clock. This is about 300k miles. I used to ride in 'Taxi Toyotas", the old square tail light gas engine Cresedas, in Dubai with 5-700K km. on them. Granted they had had up to 3 engine changes in them but when you consider that not only were they being run 27 hrs. a day 9 days a week fully loaded at full speed but were doing in the salt air of the Persian Gulf and through sandy air I think they did a pretty good job of it.

I have ridden from Dubai to Abd Dhabi, 100 miles at full speed, in aged 9 passenger Peogeot station wagons taxis, all with well over 500K km on them.

I have a friend here in S. Tx. that had a Dodge Cummings that finally gave out with 1.4 million miles on it. He used it to haul marble from Colorado to Tx.

Look at long haul semis. It is nothing for them to have over 1 million miles on them. Granted they are built for this kind of mileage but they also carry a hell of a load in doing so.

It is not that car engines, either gas of Diesel, can't do the mileage it is that they are not taken care of well enough to last that long.
