Will move to south america and will take a MB diesel. Which is the "best" most reliable MB dieselas well as the best chassis combination ?

A 240D with manual tranny, manual windows, and manual AC controls. Much less to break, and as reliable as it gets. Sound familiar cement man?

The 123 is clearly the vehicle of choice. However, in the interest of simplicity down there, and with the understanding that you probably don't need 125hp to merge onto freeways, I would encourage you to consider a 240D or 300D, n/a.
