Talking Pics of my new E300D (long!)

Thought I'd put up some pics of my new '95 E300D. This car replaces my '82 300CD that was totalled a while back. I picked it up a few weeks ago in NC. I'm the second owner, and the car is fully documented. The pictures are kinda dark because it was overcast, but it's likely the last time the car will be clean for a while with all the crappy weather we've been having.

The money shot:

Front:

Rear:

Side:

Interior:

There are more pics here if anyone is interested.

First time with a white car, and it's taking some adjusting, but slowly growing on me. Luckily, I had just switched to my snow tires when I wrecked the CD, so the summer rims were unscathed and I was able to use them on the new car. I've already put about 6000 miles on it with no problems. Hopefully I'll get many more out of it.

Later.

That's an extremely clean vehicle for a 10 year old!

Good luck with it.

Wink

Great looking ride. How many miles does the car have on? I just bought a '94 S320 with 125k on it. It is a great ride. Hope I can keep it going for a long time. Best of Luck!

Should we play "Guess the mileage" or should I just tell you?

The guy I sold my '92 124 to now has 225K on it and it still runs great. Over the past 18 months he has only needed to have the speedo rebuilt!!

I'll guess 80k mi.

Congrats on a great looking diesel. I love the air intake "gills" on the passenger fender.

Ah, you mean the speed holes!

As far as the mileage... higher.

What's the purpose of the gills? Obviously to breathe but why only the E300 of that year as opposed to the E320's and E420's...

That vehicle has 123, 689 miles on it!
(i also bought a lottery ticket tonight)
That is one pretty machine
Wonder what the mileage per gallon is?
Doesn't that look like alien territory under the hood?
I will be getting one of those in about 20 years...

Great looking E300D !!!!!

I really like your rims. I was wondering what car they came off, a clk ? Could you tell me the size of the rim.

I would say you have about 110K miles on it.

Jimmy Joe:

I'm getting about 30 MPG driving like an idiot. And I know I need a tuneup. The motor is still remarkable simple, compared to most other cars out there. Not as intimidating as it could be.

E300D:

The rims are indeed off of a CLK; mine came off a '99 CLK320, but I know they were used other years on other CLKs. They are a 16x7.5, I believe.

Both of you: Higher on the mileage.

Not sure of the technical reason for having the air intake there, but I do know that I've seen the "gills" on 124 diesels, including the 300D 2.5Turbo, from '90-'95.

149k mi!!
