Crush Washer/Rear Wheel Bearing Need Help Quick

I finally got the rear wheel bearing assembly apart today. I have the repair kit but it is missing the crush washer (it had 2 slotted nuts, no crush washer which is called a spacing sleeve in MB manual).

What is the purpose of the crush washer? Can I use the old one if I make a spacer to go next to it? How thick should the spacer be?

I'll try the dealer FRI but they usually don't have the parts I want and I need car running by SUN.

Preload tension spacing sleeve is the technical term.
It locks in the preload tension spacing between bearings.
Like on many domestic RWD pinion gear axle.
You are up the old river without a paddel.
Sorry for the bad news PEH.
Pray you get lucky at the dealer.

Hunter is correct... and get a couple extra ... use your dial indicator when tightening the nut... if you take it too far you are supposed to take it off and put a new one on and repeat with new ones until you do it correctly...
