Let it snow, let it snow, so I can slide sideways!

Well we got a nice little dusting here tonight. As I was getting out of work at 7pm I was thinking hmm about an inch on the ground and not a plow truck in sight hmm. So I drove her around the block a little getting the feel for her, this was the first time I ever had the SDL in the snow. When she was warmed up and up to operating temp I headed to my old high schools parking lot. I love snow guilt free slides, 360's and burn outs. Lets see I tried 30mph cranking the wheel to lock with my foot down! This started a nice 360 that ended with me facing the other way with the tires spinning, then I cranked over to the other lock and did one in the other direction. These cars are so easy to control after about 1/2 dozen spins I could control them perfectly. Then we took out my friends E300D that thing is amazing! With traction control on it would not spin! No matter what we tried. But with it off it would slide around like crazy. Nothing like slidding sidways at 30mph. All and all a fun night and the best part is not a mark on my tires. Also since I beat the trucks my car is still clean.
I guess thats what an SL65 would feel like in the dry.

I love getting the 300CD going sideways, it goes sideways sometimes when I don't want it . The Subaru is even more fun once the Turbo is spooled up, though it can be somewhat hard for it too loose traction, but it sure can go fast in the snow

My friend knows a guy with an Audi 1.8T that I think it tweaked a little. He said 4wd is pretty cool in the snow. Except if you get on it the car will spin all 4 wheels and just slide sideways.

I love doing 360's in the snow. I don't make a habit of it... too dangerous.

You have to watch for those pesky lamp poles and manhole covers (D@mn lucky that I never hit one).

My favorite is watching someone tag a curb (happened last winter to a friend) with their tire sideways and debeaded it and bent the crap out of his rim.

My snow play will be limited to very large lots with no postys....I drive like you guys do on the snow on pavement (yes I am a tad hard on my beater tires sometimes).

Yeah curb's could do some damage. Thats why I went to the high schools parking lot. Their really isn't anything to hit it, is really big with no light posts or anything like that, also most of the curbs are gone.
