Clutch Master Rebuildable?
Pete has a leaky Clutch Master, do they sell rebuild kits or do I need a completely new one?

New ones aren't that expensive. I don't think I've ever seen a kit for a master or a slave. I bought a new slave for my previous '80 240D for a little more than $40.
Here are a couple of choices: Fastlane - $73 http://catalog.eautopartscatalog.com/mercedesshop/sophio/wizard.jsp?partner=mercedesshop&clientid=mercedesshop&baseurl=http://catalog.peachparts.com/&cookieid=1EO12NRRP1EV0P9066&year=1981&make=MB&model=240-D-002&category=I&part=Clutch+Master+Cylinder ************************ - $62 http://www.************************/ProductPage.aspx?ProductName=Clutch+Master+Cylinder&productid=101584&producttype=40 *************** (Rusty) - $64 http://catalog.eautopartscatalog.com/buymb/wizard.jsp?partner=buymb&clientid=buymbparts&baseurl=http://www.***************/&cookieid=1EV0PI2MD1EV0PI717&year=1981&make=MB&model=240-D-002&category=I&part=Clutch+Master+Cylinder

P.E.Haiges will tell you to rebuild it, but I've never seen a kit either. Call Phil at Fastlane and ask if he can match Rusty's price. While you're at it, buy the slave as well. They're only about $25 and usually when one goes the other isn't far behind.
You should have seen the day Perfesser Leaky's clutch quit. I pulled into the Tampa MB dealer, but they wanted me to authorize $300 before they would even look at it. So I started it up and drove out clutchless. Problem was, the service manager had set the parking brake when I wasn't looking. So it was quite an adventure. To its credit though, after about two minutes of trying, it finally did start while in gear and with the parking brake on.

i hear you loud and clear. it's awfully cold out there right now too. until we get a warm day, i'm destined to keep a jug of brake fluid in the car. my rate-of-fill is about once every 3 days. PEH, feel free to chime in!

Should be about $45ish for the slave cylinder.
These are such a PIA to bleed that I wouldn't want to rebuild one (if there was a kit available) and find it leaking again shorty thereafter.

Slave cyl. leak is most likely due to rust caused by moisture that's been absorbing into the fluid for years. Doesn't take much.
"Brake & Equipment Warehouse" in MN can reline M. Cyl.'s with a stainless steel sleeve. They can probably do a slave cyl. the same way and you would never have a rusty cyl. again. They have done excellent work for me on a couple of odd projects. They seem to be able to do almost anything involving brakes. (Ph. # 612-378-3141 Rob Anderson) ROB@BRAKEPLACE.COM
