Remote starter switch hookup?

Wow! For the first time a search actually didn't give me a satisfactory answer...and it's a sort of silly question, to boot! Especially since I just successfully adjusted the sadistic vacuum controls for the transmission. Anyway, I plan to do a valve adjustment in a day or two ('82 300D), but I can't figure out where to hook up my remote starter switch. Somebody, please tell me that I don't have to hook it up directly to the solenoid. I'll probably need a bunker-buster to get to it.

Violet wire where whunter pointed you (hook to either the screw or to the violet wire that goes down to the starter)
