...and don't forget to yank her down to low gear so she don't start off in second, eh?

Michael- my car came from Waterloo, previously owned by Blaine at B&L Motors. Do you know him? (Maybe I've asked this before- don't remember).

Even better if you have a driveway on quite a hill! The last little while I could just get up the driveway with little to no throttle. Anything more and I would slip. That's what you get for having a sloped driveway. Always bites back at you in the winter.

Which cars start off in 2nd gear from a standing stop? I know my car definitely always starts off in 1st gear because it always shifts up 3 times after starting.

The '75 and '76 W115 Diesels, and I think someone mentioned early W123's start in 2nd, unless you floor it, or pull stick to "L" then back to "D" before starting. Not sure about the older 200 and 220D, or about the gassers.

Actually I live in Sackville New Brunswick- home of CBC Shortwave. I bought the car from Blaine through e-Bay.

It's a University town here, so lots of kids with interesting neckwear, but haven't seen a hood-star yet. If I ever do, I'll be yankin' somebody's chain!

Happy New Year

Dave
