Very nice including the wheels. After driving my W108 this week however I have to say that's it really neat to be looking out over the extreme curves of the hood and fenders with that large steering wheel in hand. This is an experience that died after the W111/W108/W109 line passed on. The flatter hoods and flush fenders of all the models that followed just don't impart the same unique feeling.

Bought it 2 years ago for $3,200 with 112,000 miles

$500 on the Euro bumpers

$75 on the euro headlights..

About $900 fixing the evil ACC servo problems....(servo, amp, and aux water pump)

ABout $500 completely rebuilbing the front suspension (parts only did it myself) ruber boots were spit and things were starting to get a little loose so anal retentive person I am rebuilt the whole thing.

Had to replace the Thermostat housing due to pinhole leak last year...so did the waterpump and thermostat all at the same time....had to replace M/C and booster due to failure......rebuilt vacume pump before I found out those were causing the problem.

$250 for the Ronal rims....about another $450 for the tires from Tire Rack..

replaced all the weatherstripping as it was hard from AZ sun...

And soem other small parts sorting out the power loss I had...

Really more than I really wanted to spend.....plus some of the spares I have accumulated.

Definately noisier than a W123...but far more road feel than the W123....definately feels far nimbler even though its wider longer and heavier....

300D is a W123 chassis................built through 1985

300SD I have is a W116 chassis.....built 1978 through 1980 but the W116 chassis was in production before 1978

The W116 is about 12" longer and 6" wider...they share an engine (It had the turbo diesel first in 1978)

Very few other parts are enterchangible.
