You will see all the black "wires" going to all the swtches etc. like an octopus...they pipe the light from a central bulb......so basicly everything that lights up doesn't have its own bulb.

My 123 is like that for the top row of switches (sunroof, rear light, rear window defrost). The climate control has light bulbs though. I was just in there on Friday to change out the bad bulbs.

I have many years of experience in auto repair. Even so, I don't know everything. In fact, Mercedes Diesels were a learning experience for me for a while as they were not my everyday job. All that said, I try not to answer any questions that I don't absolutely know the answer to (without stating so). If I do answer and my advice is not taken, then it's no skin off my back. It is the same in the forum as it is in person. Many times a person will ask you how, why, etc., only to question your answer afterwards. The way I feel is "If you don't want to know, then don't ask, I told you what I thought and you can do with it as you please".

Vive la Difference! To each his own! Live and learn!

When you know you are right, that is all you need to know.

When you can learn, absorb like a sponge.

Share freely, honestly, to the best of your knowledge and experience, and expect nothing in return.

Oh, yes, be d*** glad you weren't discussing oil...

Best Regards,
Jim

Ignoring sound advice is permitted

But..... making up "facts" shall be rewarded with a diesel enema.
