1999 E300 Turbo Diesel in Memphis,Tn

Hello all,

I am offering a 1999 E300 Turbo Diesel for sale.

I have a nice single owner car that was just traded on a new MB E320 CDI. The car is southern and rust free. I checked the body panels with an Elcometer paint gauge and found the car to be free of previous paint work. The car runs and drives great! Has great boost, and no obvious bad manners.
Has high miles, (160k) but, doesn't seem to phase the car at all..link to the auction

I am offering it for sale without reserve on ebay. Please give it a look.

This car is nearly identical to the '99 E300TD that I sold in November on ebay (157k miles for $19,500). The only difference is this car doesn't have heated leather seats & it has 3k more miles. The only nit pick found by the MB dealer's service dept was the motor mounts need replacement and the front pads were nearing their life expectancy. Both items are being addressed at present and will be repaired prior to sale.

The car is being offered without reserve. Bidding starts @ $19.99. I can ship it anywhere in North America easily.

Thank you for your time.

Amazing that a car with no previous paint work doesn't even have one stone chip on the front of the vehicle. Must have been driven in reverse alot. LOL

I have an 18 1/2 year old car with 2 stone chips and original paint. I think the car is a GREAT example. My FIL has the same car; no paint chips. The seller's feedback rating makes the auction very credible to me.

Funny you should mention that, I know someone with almost the exact same car and mileage. His front has been repainted and their are still a few nice chips on the front bumper and around the headlights. Also judgeing by the fact that the headlights seem to have some chipping I bet the front was painted at some point. But that isn't a bad thing in my book, it shows the po cared.

I bet it goes for $16k-$18k. A very nice example!

I think you are right too. That's a beautiful car. I had a '97 with over 230k that ran great and looked like a 70k car. Sometimes I wish I had kept it...

This is what I got

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=4505825927&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT

If herb had gotten off his ass and decided to sell that a month and a half ago, I would have been a serious contender for it.

If this vehicle sells for $20K and has 160K on the clock and the one you bought sold for $24K and has 62K on the clock, you basically got 100K miles for an additional $4K.

You clearly have a way better deal with the lower mileage vehicle, IMHO.

Yes.

I'm a small independant in Memphis,Tn. My wife and I have been selling about 120 cars a year for the last seven years on the internet full time.

I keep about 25-30 old Mb's at a time and sell about 10 per month.

Current MB Diesel inventory is-

1985 300D
1987 300SDL
1991 350SDL
1992 E300
1993 300SD
1999 E300

I also handle SL's and S class. I just bought a 1970 280SE 3.5 Cabriolet yesterday. I sometimes handle some obscure stuff..

RE the stone chips, my 108k E300 has no stone chips to speak of due to the fact, I had a Colgan Bra on the car (one of the few) for all its life. The front is absolutely new. I believe in car bras, despite the telltale line of abrasion and their funky look.

I'll buff that out the abrasion in the clear coat when it gets close to the base coat.

Re the Florida cars, I would carefully check for flood damage in anything coming from Florida. There are thousands of cars out there that left the State.

You were right about the stone chips.

I was curious about the comment earlier about the lack of stone chips and that maybe the hood was painted. Well, I went back with my camera yesterday and sure enough, it has some stone chips. They aren't too bad, and really aren't visible from 5 feet, but they do exist. Guess I'll be ordering some #702 touch up paint from the dealer....
