No "STOP" lever under hood

My Euro 82 240D does not have the stop lever under the hood. I don't think its a case of just the lever missing there is no other linkage that I see it could be attached to. Is it plausible to just remove the items from a junker or is this common on Euro cars.

I don't think 240's came with the lever neither American or Euro.

My neighbor's Euro 300D has a stop lever that does nothing and another smaller lever that acts as the stop level. Fooled me good trying to show him how to shut it off (it even says stop on it).

Look closer, it's there. It is smaller and further down than the stop lever you are used to seeing on North American models. May not be red either.

Found it

I wasn't having a problem shutting down but I just wanted to make sure that I had one. After looking further down towards the IP I did find a small unmarked lever on the IP that must be the shutoff. Thanks for the assistance.

...I sand corrected. It's a good thing you have one though, mine saves me a trip to the cabin to shut down every once in a while.

Thanks
David
