switch lights
I just dug into the center console to change the light that feeds the fiber optic system and found that someone had broken the light off in the socket. does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get it out? The light is broken off so short that it is recessed in the socket.
This weekend I did do the first oil change, oil filter, both fuel filters and air filter on my new/used MB. I replaced the two levers on the two valves on top of the valve cover and found that one of the male connector pins on the vacuum line plug was broken off, new project. I changed the fuel filters without filling the larger one with fuel first then used the primming pump for about 20 seconds and all ok. 1983 300SD Thanks for everyones help when I was researching these projects before jumping in. 1 2

Phil, welcome aboard and to the world of Benzes. Speaking of Benz, which model do you have. It is helpfull to list you car in your "signature", so that those with a simular model can give you more model specific advise.

Maybe you can grab what's left of the bulb with tiny needle nose pliers, so it can pull out.
If not, you'll probably need some tiny picks to pick the pieces out of the socket., like dentist picks. Best Regards, Jim |

Switch light update
I finally managed to get the broken light out of the socket and install a new one. I decided that as long as I was that far into the console that I would change any other lights that I could find. What I found was 1 light in the emergency flasher switch and 4 lights across the HVAC control section. This section had 1 next to the temp. wheel, 2 behind the switchs and 1 next to the fan switch. I just wanted to post this incase anyone is looking for this info. If anyone knows how to change the lights in the becker radio let me know. Thanks
