Link works for me , but may be keyed to individual's "cookies"?
At FastLane put in bearing bracket bushings for your year and they should come up. You're right about a thorough evaluation of the area where the bearing bracket mates up. I guess I was assuming the best and shouldn't have. The slot itself (for the tab) doesn't get me too worked up, but the whole area there should be looked at when it's apart. I figured a Florida car........no real rust.....

yeah, its not rusted at all form what i can see right now....im thinking i had to have hit something to jar it like that....that sure doesnt look like a normal wear and tear deal

should this be covered in my mercedes workshop CD manual? ive been trying to find it in there and cant....the one i have is from MBUSA, and ive looked under suspension, steering, and front axle...can anyone tell me what this procedure might be called by MB in the manual?

also, jbaj007....ive been searching through this site, looking for directions on doing this and i cant find anything complete....most of what i found was just dealing with the bearings and getting them out of the bracket....do you know of a complete set of directions for doing this? if so, could you be so kind as to link me to them? i would appreciate it immensely
