Car for sale
240 240 200 220. Looks like the first guy, who didn't even test it, was right. Now, I'm back where I started. Is it worth it to put in a new engine?
Anyone want to buy a pretty little Red Mercedes?

Maybe it is good news
This the diagnosis we all dread feared was true. As much as my mechanic (mentioned in the opening post) can be difficult, he is a capacity when it comes to servicing our old horses.
Now that the news is said, Janet, if I were you, I'd start 'shopping' for a replacement block, since most of the parts in your car are in excellent condition. With a little reading, we should arrive at a reasonably priced enging and with the forum on your side, you should have it up and running at a manageable cost. Let us know what you find. If any group reader has an engine or a comment where to get one, please post

rebuilt engine
I found a rebuilt engine for 1000.00 back in December in Sun Valley, I believe. I can't find the info again. Does anyone know of such a place, or any place in Southern California. I can pick up the engine with my truck.

Today the wind chill was -3 F. After 30 seconds of glow and no use of the block heater, the car started on the first try after about 20 seconds. It would be easier on the system to use the block heater and once the new power cord for the block heater arrives, it will be used before starting. BTW synthetic oil 5W50 doesn't hurt either, that's next on the list. |

strelnik,
Wind chill does not necessarily make a car harder to start. No matter how low the wind chill goes, the engine never goes below ambient temperature.. I just gets there faster. |
