Adventure Capitalist, By Jim Rogers. I am about half way through, he is in Africa now. Wow that is one screwed up continent, if they would stop shooting eachother it could be a nice place!

The local search and rescue guys were giving me crap for having a Search And Rescue sticker on my rear deck lid (I am a volunteer).
They were joking about throwing some mudders under my car and lifiting in a foot and a half
Looks like SOMEONE in the SAR group is getting an email

The two of you better be quiet and just talk about what you are knowledgeable about. Those were rude comments!! I'll end this here as I don't want to hijack this thread.

all you need is a worn out car and a mechanically sound but cancer ridden truck.....and some ingenuity...............and a lot of skill.

That would be on cool MB truck.

I am reading a book about a guy who drove around the world in a yellow SLK on a diesel G class chassis.

Expanded model lineup:
Mercedes GLK

Mazda Miata

and Ford Mustang

Rude comments? I was just commenting on the observations of someone who drove through Africa twice. It is a dangerious place, their are a lot of bloody never ending wars always going on. However thier is a lot of un tapped talent and natural resources. If they were not so busy killing eachother in stupid civil wars it could be a very nice and wealthy area.

wow, I'd like one decked out in camafloge so i could hunt out of it here in Texas. If it had a diesel engine though the hunt might be over before you get to your stand.
Hopefully those cars were junk and someone made projects out of them. In that case, they did a good job putting in the time and money to get a MB in that good shape.
