Vacuum control valve

I have seen so mention of adjusting the vacuum control valve. I can find the valve but how and where do I adjust it? There is a plastic part on the side that looks like it might be a cover for something. Is this a cap that I need to remove to access an adjustment screw? Help. I have found all or most of the vacuum leaks, I HOPE, and now want to start fine tunning the system.

Are we allowed to post links to the other Mercedes list site??? Any this is the article I always refer to. I'm new to this list but I have been active on the other list site for many years. (no annoying avators or smile thingys)

Yes there should be a removable cap, looks like a plastic dome. Under it you may find it is either unadjustable or has a little slot on it for a small wrench so that it can be adjusted. The number should be as close to 0" as possible at WOT and should be at least 13" at idle, any lower will cause a clunk going into gear. 15" at idle would be prefered. There are several other tranny adjustment links on the page linked in my sig.
