first of all i would like to thank all on the list for info and help regarding my 1993 300sd...

i have been a mercedes diesel guy for 25 years and thought that the 93 300sd was step up with better motor that would be better engineered

was i wrong...i realized that my ferrari is less costly to maintain than the 1993 300sd i purchased...i also realized like my ferrari i will never buy one without a complete BUYERS INSPECTION.

i decided to sell the car because it was going to take another $2-$2500 to get the bugs worked out as i don't have the time or patience to DIY...

besides it turned out after that miles i drove that the car burns 1 qt of oil per 500 miles which to me is on the high side...the compression was 400 straight accross with no problem on #1 cyl???

i disclosed all of the problems and oil consumption info to my friend who really wanted the car..we worked a deal and he is happy and i have lost about $1K total on the car...

***i am still interested in purchasing a 1993 300sd in gray/gray or silver/gray...**only a car with a factory replaced or rebuilt motor...any leads please let me know...
