Well it appears I'm out. I can't find a tow company to move it 25 miles for under $200 ($80 hook-up fee, $3.89 per mile.

Sorry guys, I really wanted this to work as I needed a few W123 parts off it as well.

Borrow a pickup truck and a friend and tow it 25 miles???

It would certainly be worth it for what you have there. If you can't arrange it, I'm almost certain Jeff would help you. He's right near you.

if it gets towed I could use the fuel pump, pending further discussion.

Sounds like you were quoted an insurance company towing rate. Ask around and you may find a guy with a two wheel tow dolly and a partial saturday or sunday morning to go pick it up. It is only twenty five miles away after all. Just a hop skip and jump. Probably a good deal for you plus think of all the new people you will meet to boot. Perhaps one of the other mercedes owners in your area has a friend or connection? At worst may be an auto wrecker that would pick it up and drop it at your location reasonable. Thinking 50.00 or less as even thats 2.00 per mile.

go to ryder and get a truck with a dolly.

Listen, parts cars that nice and that cheap are hard to find. I wouldn't let that get away. Figure it out!
I've been trying like crazy to find a decent parts car, and I can tell you that is a great deal.
