Someone's Getting a Pretty Good Deal...

Stumbled on this. Complete 617.952 (includes IP, Turbo, Alt., A/C Cond., everything) and the transmission for under $300 (so far). Someone here in TX should pick it up...

Check it out

I think it will sell for less than $400, mostly because it's in the middle of flatandbrownforasfarasyoucanseeineverydirection, Texas. The seller cut himself out of alot of $$ by refusing to ship, IMHO.

There is not a dip stick in the engine to check the fluid, but looking through the oil filler cap the engine is clean.
Must be a real idiot because you can clearly see
the white dipstick for the oil and the red one for
the tranny fluid.

A good deal in any case.
The injection pump and the turbo alone are worth the
money.

Louis.

he may be thinking the tube that runs from the bottom of the air filter housing to the oil pan is where the dipstick is supposed to go

Tom, YES you should ... take that new Tacoma up there and haul it back... can't have too many spare 617 engines... the seller has a great feedback record ( if correct )....I know where some cars are sitting in garages... might be a match made in Texas.... I can't afford them... but if one already has an engine ready it makes a big difference in looking at sitting cars....

Well I just got off the phone with my father, now he wants it. So I'm probably going to bid and hopefully if I don't get "Sniped", he'll drive up and get it in his truck.

yeah a shame hes not shipping. I really would have enjoyed rebuilding that engine. Keeping in mind (dont fix what isnt broken) theory.

That would have been added to my collection of the two om617's I already have.
