Can Someone Tell Me About Linkage Rods on 617??? See Pic!

Guys,
Please look at pic of engine compartment of my 85 300SD. Can someone tell me what each of the linkage rods indicated does. They are numbered 1 through 5. I've had the car since Sept, and LOVE it. Thanks for your knowledge! 80 300SD, 236k miles Astral Silver...a Teutonic Beauty! |

2-3-5 are throttle.
1-4 are cruise control. Have a great day. :) |
Well let's see......
#1&4 linkages are for the cruise control. #5 is for the injection pump. #2 is for the EGR control. And #3 is for the transmission bowden cable. I believe that is correct. Basically the same controls on most cars. MB used linkage rods instead of some of the gizmos found on others. |
