Changing lower control arm bushings

This is my first time ever posting a topic. So at the moment I am just feeling my way. I have a 1985 300D Turbo and I need lower control arm bushings. My tires are wearing on the inside on both sides. Is this a project I can take on my self or do I need to take it to a shop. Also are there any shortcuts to this repair. I would appreciate any info. Thanks

It is a reasonable DIY job, but it is essential that you use a Mercedes specific spring compressor. What leads you to believe that the LCA bushings are the cause of your problems?

I took it to a place to get the front end checked and he said I have to get the LCA bushings repalced before he could do a alignment.

How many miles on your car? Has it had other front end work, like ball joints, upper control arms?
