My new badge made my day -pic

I got my new badge from Germany today! This is going to look good on my grille. It is enamel over top of copper. Fantastic!

That does look great! What is it for, or what does it signify?

It is a German ADAC road rally badge

In Germany, ADAC is the nationwide auto club. They have regular road rallyes that are like a Sunday drive through historic areas of everyone in the ADAC club from what I understand, everyone gets a badge after a Rallye. The town or region is usually represented on the badge. In the small white circle is the ADAC emblem.

I buy badges from germancarbadge.com and eurobadge.org
The fellow at euro badge has several on ebay right now listed under german grille badges. Dont be fooled by imitations. The chinese made junk is not of this quality. These are on solid brass or copper and the enamel is then poured and baked into the carved metal backing.

Thanks Will for the info. I really like the badge. What is the price difference between the cheap Chinese badges and the real thing?

Chinese badges are junk

the star shaped badged with the serated edges are thin, cheap metal. The enamel is thin and they are not German. Ordered one and sent it back.

When I was in Germany they also did the same for "Volksmarches". I think I have about 6 badges somewhere in my treasures here in the house.

Same kind of deal, just walking...and they are medals with a metal part and a cloth part.

That's cool...thanks for sharing it here!!

dealer parts

go to your dealer parts counter hitman. You get the form from them and they verify your mileage. Then you mail it in and they send you your badge. Still haven't gotten mine yet. But the form was mailed weeks ago.

Willrev, you might try calling them and seeing if they shipped it. I'd be curious to know ... they told me they have shipped mine TWICE, but I have not recieved it either time. I'm beginning to wonder if they really have, or if someone in the shipping dept is slacking. It seems odd that the PO would mess it up twice.

Evidentially, the badges are on backorder at the moment, though. They are redesigning them. Hope they still have the classic look they had before.
