603 timing chain good and bad news
 

The Good: Checked the timing chain for strech today. Motor probable has 170K miles on it. The valve train / head look beautiful. The chain has 2 degrees difference from the cam to the crank. It too looked very clean with no wear evident on the chain nor cam gear.

The Bad: I cracked the valve cover trying to get it loose (yes I was not too patience and used a rubber mallet - it always worked on my American Cars) and one cover bolt broke.

Anyone have an extra 603 valve cover at a real reasonable price?
