240D 4spd FS in Ohio

Hello all,
My friend in Ohio was looking at this and had to pass (wife) but thought someone here might be interested, as it needs it a good home: From the owner: Good Body, minor rust at back corner of driver doors. Jack Points are in good shape. Body is in very good condition. New Exhaust. New Starter, Glow Plugs, Water Pump, Tires Burn your beard off heat. A/C is questionable, I think it works but we haven’t had during the summer yet! Radio works, tape player doesn’t. Dash lights have short. There is a map light with a flexible arm that helps in a pinch. Fuel Gage doesn’t work, odo does. Driver seat has 4 inch tear. Arm rest has cracks, dash has cracks. It doesn’t look as bad as it sounds though. Block heater. Drives fine. Oil leak is being worked on right now (so are the dash lights, we’ll see, as well as a wiper that stopped working.) The leak is from the front main seal on the crank shaft, we guess it is due to excessive idling which has caused the crank to gain some wiggle room. My mechanic has a plan though! Leak has been about a quart per fillup on a 7 quart engine. We have only had the car for a few months, we are the 4th owner. We bought it to sell in hope of spreading biodiesel use. We used it spring-fall 04 and it was great. Mostly Renewable, better emissions, same great mileage, produced locally (Cincy) from regional crop, and requires no modifications to engine (Actual vegetable oil would). Also sent the pic below. Looks like a fairly rust free stick shift 240D. East of Cincy somewhere (place that got hit by a tornado...what's it called...Xenia or5 something...) Sellers email: matt@ebcxenia.org Direct inquires to him. |

1982 Model Year. 198k mi. He was asking like $2400, but w/ the front seal issue he has discovered, I am sure he can be talked down under $2k. |
