I have bought a few grease nozels and have yet to find one that will fit into the fitting on my W126's hinges. I want to grease my doors I am sure they have never been done. Is their an official MB tool? I need to talk to the dealer maybe their is an official grease fitting? Anybody find something that works?

I've always used a needle nozzle on my grease gun (Lincoln needle nozzle model 5803), maybe they're plugged up. Try a sharp pin or needle to clean them out first, good luck

If these are like those on the W123, that is to say a concave conical shape with a little hole at its center, I have a grease gun attachment that works great. I'm not sure where I got it, but it is about a 2" long cylinder with a conical point at its tip and a small diameter hole.
Try Northern Tool (www.northerntool.com) or any major tool outfit like Matco, Snap-On, etc.

Go to www.northerntool.com and type: "Oregon grease gun" in keyword search. There you will see the little W.German made grease gun which is made exactly for this. Cost $20 . Neat, it also does regular grease zirks.

(For some reason NT put it under chain saws. But if they put it under Mercedes it would probably cost twice as much. )

I use the same one that I use on my chain saw bar roller. Fits the 116 and 123 body styles.

You have to make sure the dimple in the hinge sleeve isn't caked with crud. If it is the grease will squirt out around the nipple rather than being forced into the hinge.

I think the hinges are pretty clean, I might try a little carb cleaner in the fittings to clean any crud thats in their out.

Chainsaw bar sprocket greaser. Costs about $3 at Walmart, $5 at chainsaw places.

You just put the tip in the cone on the hinge and push on the end of the greaser. Works perfectly.

I found a self contained sort of mini-grease gun at Ace with a tip that fits 123 door hinges. $6.79 in the chain saw accessories area. Made by Orregon

I formerly owned 108 and 111 body MBs, with door hinge configuation like the 123. On those, the door hinges were lubed with oil, as per spec. A typical oil can with lever feed worked OK. The tip of the oil gun fit the opening at the center of the hinge just fine.

So you use the grease that came with the grease gun?

Or is there a specific Mercedes grease just for door hinges?

That was the answer to a stupid lube question, by one of my Boiler and Turbine instructors.....some 35 years ago....never forgot that line......

I'm not saying that MB dosen't have "MB Certified Door Lube", but most probably any good grade of door lube will work well......perhaps some Teflon Based stuff.....
