Maybe it's the resolution, but I don't see a hint of a hood star on either car.
How did they aim those things? :D |
Quota already blown.. bugger

That's sweet. But it reminds me of a question I posted a long time ago: Did the w123 cars ever come with limited-slip differentials?
Did these rally cars have them installed, or did they actually manage that kind of terrain without? Hard to imagine! |
All of the w123 rally cars were 280 gassers (at least all the ones that I have ever seen listed as "winners" or placing ;) ).
I am pretty sure they had limited slip, they would have to. Modified suspension too. -M- PS: They had to lose the star to save on drag! :D |

Heres another. I was using this pic as a loose base for the rally conversion I was considering for my old '79 wagon before someone made me an offer I couldn't refuse. This one is missing the roof rack, though. I wanted four spares on the roof too.
I always wanted a rally car! |
sort of related, I have a set of the groovy fog lites that the 115s came with and I am thinking of drilling out my front bumper and mounting them like those lights. Anyone have any other pics of extra fog lights mounted on a 123 bumper?

keep 'em coming
wow guys, please keep these coming, I need ideas on how to make my 240D look cool
(I'm already on the lookout for some of those "big arsed" foglights mounted on the front of rally W123's...) -John |
I mounted some rectangular Hellas under the bumper on a 300TD. It looks better suited in my opinion, than round lamps on the W123 (sorta stealthy).
The 115 chassis has a nice littel cut out to either side of the grill that is perfect for mounting up to 6 inch lights. I have a set of Carellos I need to install on my 220. (picture of the wagon lights to follow) |
