'87 300D Rear Suspension Question

After perusing the archives, I have not found the answer to my question. My '87 seems to "roll" a little in the rear end when changing lanes if the surfaces are a little uneven. It also seems to do this if I hit a break in the road and don't hit it square. My question is this...Is this a rear shock problem, or a thrust arm, control arm problem? As usual, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Mike

I've not experianced this with my 87 300D, but my guess is that your on to something when you mention thrust arm, control arm! I would doubt shocks would cause what you describe!

Thumbs up Hmmm

Rear sub frame mounts and trailing arm bushings did this to me.
I just replaced mine, rides great now.

Thanks for the advice. I can't stand how squirrelly it feels when I hit any uneven surfaces. I'll be ordering these parts tonight as well as a few others for projects on my other car.

The next project for this car after the rear suspension will be the transmission. After the trap oxidizer was removed and the turbo replaced, my transmission started slipping a little. It doesn't do it all the time but is quite annoying. I have yet to diagnose whether it is the fluid, vacuum modulator, or the transmission. Hope to tackle this project this weekend.
