Calling Southern Illinois diesel owners ...

Hello friends -

Got a lead today on a car, and it's located in Mt. Vernon, IL. Would like to get a PPI if it's still available.

Could anyone recommend a mechanic or a shop near Mt. Vernon that could do this for me?

Would be grateful for any suggestions. Thanks!

Have a good weekend,
Michael.

The MB dealership in Marion IL is excellent and the head MB tech has been at the dealership for about 30 years and they love the old diesels, even the parts dept is sharp on 123 diesel parts. 1-800-298-3067

How 'bout a shop in St. Louis?

Hi friends -

Can anyone recommend a shop in St. Louis for me? That's even closer than Marion, and I bet I'll find a few good ones there.

Thanks for any help!
Michael.

Here's a link to friend in St Louis area who may help you, he does know MB diesels. Although he specializes in VW Diesels, he has owned & worked on MB diesels. Oilhammer

Talk to Gilly and see if you can hire him for a few hours to do a Starmark on it. Probably be worth your while.

Michael,

Erwin Schwartz Motors on Brentwood at Manchester in St. Louis. Ask for Mike Ferguson and tell him Tom Roy sent you over. They have been in business forever and Mike is one of the best mechanics I have ever met.

Hi everyone -

Thanks for the post! This for a '95 E300D. I bought it, pending an inspection. Will keep everyone posted.

Thanks again for the help,
