LOVE my new monovalve!
I installed a new monovalve a few days ago and it got its first test last night. WOW, what a difference! I now get heat whenever I want it -- instantly. What a concept!
If your heater is acting funky and you haven't done this repair, I say DO IT NOW. It is cheap and SO EASY!

Yeah, I did mine last weekend as well on the SDL.
Not quite as easy as yours trying to get at the valve between the two firewalls and being 100% positive that you do not drop a screw (it's history) with temperatures hovering about 35°F. But, the heat now works properly again.
