6 cyl engine on ebay head

This was just listed on eBay

1987 MERCEDES 300TD MOTOR DIESEL 6 CYLINDER

seller claims head has been replaced with new version seems like a reasonable opening bid http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33615&item=7954232618&rd=1
I have bad luck posting links hope it works

I am sure most everyone on here is eBay savy, and those of us who have 603's probably all saw it the day it was put on eBay.

I really hate to remind you of this little tidbit:

You have three Mercedes diesel engines.

Each one has five cylinders.

Wonder why he does not want to try to sell the whole car?
Wiring harnesses can be replaced.

Whew, that would be a ton of work. You would put it in the W123 or the W116?

I'm curious, but so what if the car got flooded. If the engines good, maybe the transmission might be salvagable too, and so what if wires got wet! If the car was dried properly, pull all the seats out, carpet out, buy a rotted out, or wrecked TD, and make one good car from two! Well???

In a 240D with a shot engine and tranny............

Both of mine are too good to do that hack to just yet.

But mostly that 603 would collect dust in garage till I was ready to use it....IF it was cheap enough...........but I know thats not going to happen.
