Hello,

On an occasion, the dash glow plug indicator light will not light up when I crank the key. Once the engine fires up, the glow plug light comes on. I then turn off the car and when I restart it everything is back to normal.

Now, that only happens once in a while. Hopefully this does not indicate weak glow plugs. The plugs were changed about 18k miles ago.

You can test your plugs in about ten minutes. Pop off the glow plug connector and test each terminal with an ohm meter. Good ones will read 0.6 ohms cold. It is possible to get a bad one out of the box or for one to be bad.
